Alumni Mentorship Program

The Alumni Mentorship Program has begun with a massive spike in participation this semester. 42 active brothers have been paired with Mu alumni and have started establishing relationships with their mentors. The chapter looks forward to future success within in the program as our alumni mentors give advice to their mentee on major choices, internship searching, career goals and much more. The active chapter thanks Logan Duncan (M 2529) and Sam McKinstry (M 2543) for their help in spearheading the program.

Sigma Zoo

Mu chapter had the opportunity to host a party titled “Sigma Zoo” this past month, spearheaded by social chair Colin Beecham (M 2697). The party featured decorations in and around the house giving the house a “jungle” themed atmosphere. Entertainment was provided by a local Athens band and a DJ, both of which put on a great show.

Rush

Rush is well underway for our Fall 2019 class, as Cole Smith (M 2702) and the rush team established our calendar of events for the spring and summer and started to reach out to rushees. Two weekends ago, Mu welcomed 20 rushees to Athens to partake in a rush event that included attending the UGA baseball game and our Sigma Zoo party later that night. While our rush team is off to a great start, we need your help!  If you know of any outstanding high school seniors that are pursuing greek life please let us know using this link: https://www.ugasigmanu.com/refer-a-candidate/

Intramural Basketball Championship

The Sigma Nu – Sigma Chi intramural basketball team won the UGA Recreation championship this past month. The team comprised of three Sigma Chis and three Sigma Nus included brothers Cole Smith (M 2702), Will Lucado (2712) and Carson Seramur (M 2700). The team played 11 games throughout the season and went undefeated! After making it to the championship game held in UGA’s Stegeman Coliseum the team bested their opponent 68-55 on a strong performance from Cole Smith. Congratulations to Cole, Will and Carson and check out the team picture after their win attached to this post!

Alumni Speaker Series

Mu Chapter is actively looking to book out our Alumni Speaker Series for 2019!  If you or someone you know is interested in speaking to the chapter, we would love to have you. In the past year we’ve had some incredible speakers on topics like building successful careers, growing our fraternity, practicing healthy habits and many other topics. We’ve love to learn from the wisdom of our alumni while hearing stories of the days when our alumni were a part of the active chapter. If this is something you would be interested in please reach out to me at mualumnichair@gmail.com. Thank you!
