Summer Updates 2009

We are proud to announce the Spring 2009 Fraternity grade report. Mu Chapter Sigma Nu Fraternity delivered the #7 academic results (3.22 GPA) among all UGA fraternities. Particular points of pride:

  • 12 Brothers on Deans List
  • 7th Overall in Grades with 3.22 GPA (out of 26 fraternities), Greater than the Mens undergrad average of 3.06
  • 77% of Brothers earned a 3.0 or higher

Commander Clayton Cox managed the move and purchases for the new chapter house and assisted with the ongoing Capital Campaign.

Lieutenant Commander Alex Bradford interned for Newt Gingrich’s office in Washington DC within Policy and Outreach.

Treasurer Nathan Whitmire interned with Albery Financial Planning Services in Watkinsville, GA and C&W Interior Furnishings in Finance in Gwinnett, GA.

Recorder Chris Sanders interned with McKesson Provider Technologies in Process Improvement at the Alpharetta, GA headquarters. He also represented the Terry College of Business MIS department at the American Conference for IS in San Francisco.

Collegiate Grand Councilman George Ward worked as an Analyst Intern at Roark Capital Group, an Atlanta private equity firm.

Mike Naghshineh interned with the Investment Banking Division at Credit Suisse in New York. He also studied abroad in New Zealand for Maymester.

Social Chair Buck Dixon interned within Representative John Linder’s office in Washington, DC.

Michael Harvey interned within Finance at Sun Life Financial EBG in Charlotte, NC.

Mike Williams worked Rockit Artist Management in Athens, an emerging talent management company in the music industry.

Chaplain Andrew Laarhoven interned with the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development in Atlanta. He also studied abroad in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Will Hearn interned with State Farm Insurance in Atlanta, Georgia.

Logan Stroly traveled to New Zealand for the UGA study abroad Maymester.

Chris Dammeyer interned at Credit Suisse, a private-banking company located in Atlanta.

Dave Sanders worked with UGA Housing for an on campus summer work program.

Clay Knowles interned with Troutman Sanders, LLP law firm in Marietta.

LEAD Chair Cory King interned with NCCPA, a physician assistant certification company in Atlanta. He worked for the CFO within Budget Planning and Accounting.

Kyle McDonald worked within Billing/Accounting at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. He also studied abroad for 2 months in Valencia, Spain for foreign language study.
