Mu News- November 2019

Good afternoon Alumni, The active chapter has had a fantastic fall semester and we are so excited to share what we have done in the last few months. While this is the November communication, this will be our last of the year as we produce our annual newsletter that will be released this December. If your address has changed recently and you would like to receive Mu’s annual update, use this link to update your contact information: https://www.ugasigmanu.com/update-my-info/.Jam For Cam 2019 was a major success! Founded in honor of our late brother Cameron Fearon, Jam For Cam set out to host a festival-style event in remembrance of Cameron and to bring awareness to melanoma research for the second straight year. This year Jam For Cam hosted seven  bands for eight and a half hours of non-stop music. We moved locations to Southern Brewing Company and created a strategic partnership with them that was critical to our success. We are proud to announce that Jam For Cam 2019 was attended by 10,000 people and raised just over $120,000! This makes Jam For Cam UGA’s largest private greek fundraiser and puts us just under $200,000 raised in our first fiscal year. We thank all Mu alumni who supported us along the way. If you want to read more about the event check out this story from the Red and Black: https://www.redandblack.com/culture/jam-for-cam-raises-for-skin-cancer-charities-with-local/article_2036de56-ed3c-11e9-8ac2-973d6defe907.htmlThank you to the many alumni who joined the active chapter for the 2019 alumni tailgate. Food was catered by Saucehouse Barbecue and alumni and active brothers enjoyed connecting over shared brotherly bonds. After the event, the active brothers spoke above the many connections made throughout the day and were incredibly grateful to the alumni who took the time to join us in rooting on the Dawgs. We look forward to next year’s alumni tailgate!

In keeping with UGA tradition, brothers made their way to “Frat Beach” on Friday and joined what has come to be one of the most enjoyable experiences for UGA students.
