Chris Sanders with Microsoft CIO Tony Scott

Mu Chapter is proud to announce that the Terry College of Business’ Society for Management Information Systems (SMIS), under the leadership of brother Chris Sanders, was recently recognized as the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Student Chapter of the Year for 2010.

AIS is an international academic organization for MIS faculty to share and encourage research in the field of information systems. Their membership base is over 4000 members in over 90 countries.

Chris is serving his second term as president of the University of Georgia’s SMIS. He also serves on the steering committee responsible for the development and growth of the new AIS Student Chapter organization, which currently includes over 65 chapters worldwide.

In addition to his role as president of SMIS, Chris has served our chapter as Recorder and Technology Chair, and has been influential in the creation and maintenance of our chapter website. Chris was recently selected for the Order of Omega and also as a Deer Run Fellow, a new Terry leadership program hosted by Doug Ivester, former CEO of Coca Cola and Terry Alum, for eight students a semester to discuss leadership while spending a weekend on Ivester’s Deer Run plantation in South Georgia.  Chris will graduate this coming spring with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in MIS.

On behalf of the brothers of Mu Chapter, we congratulate Chris and UGA SMIS!
