Throughout the summer, brothers have been busy. Whether studying abroad, working internships, or rushing candidates in Athens, it’s safe to say all have had a good summer. Here’s what Mu Chapter has been up to and what’s to come.Summer Abroad ![]() Pictured: Brothers at the University of Innsbruck This summer 13 brothers traveled abroad together to Innsbruck, Austria. The activity packed six weeks consisted of travels to seven different countries including Spain, Czech Republic, Croatia, and others. It was a great experience that was unforgettable for everyone. We hope to see future brothers take this trip and continue the long standing tradition of the Innsbruck study abroad.- Luke Payne Candidates and New Member Education ![]() Pictured: New Candidates of PC ’29After a successful summer of rushing, Rush Chairman Will Russell (Mu 2984) and his rush team presented the chapter with 39 new candidates. With 9 legacies and members representing 8 states, the new member education process is in full swing. The candidates have had the opportunity to learn about the history of Sigma Nu and Mu Chapter, volunteer at Extra Special People (ESP), attend IFC speaker series, and get to know each other and active brothers. A special thanks to Brother Russell and his rush team for all their work over the summer. Mu Chapter is excited to watch these candidates grow.- Mac LoveinGrand Chapter and Rock Chapter Award ![]() Pictured (left to right): Jon Sprenger (Mu 2945), Michael Bahr (Mu 2981), Will Pierotti (Mu 2942), Joe Gilman (Mu 2440), Camp Carpenter (Mu 2960), Robert Durham (Mu 1650), Michael Barry (Mu 2071), and Maury Gaston (Mu 2952) This summer, Sigma Nu held its annual Grand Chapter, where Mu Chapter was once again awarded Rock Chapter! This is the ninth Rock Chapter in a row to be awarded to Mu Chapter, marking 18 years of consistent excellence. Rock Chapter is a metrics-based performance review done by Nationals, assessing various areas of chapter operations such as Brotherhood, finances, manpower, campus leadership, alumni engagement, philanthropy, academics, and more. The standard for Rock is Very Good or Excellent in each category for the two consecutive years of the biennium. A huge thank you to everyone who helped, including our alumni advisors Leigh Stowe and Max Brandon who were presented the Advisory Excellence Award! – Mac Lovein Brother Spotlight ![]() Pictured: Harrison Lee (Mu 2975)This summer, the brothers were very active with study abroad and holding internships. One of the Mu chapter brothers we would like to highlight this month is Harrison Lee, Mu 2975, from Saint Simons Island. This summer, he was able to fit in both a semester abroad in the beautiful countries of Australia and New Zealand, studying the biology of the Great Barrier Reef as well as working alongside numerous talented physicians in Glynn County. While in the hospital, he had the privilege of working in the trauma critical care unit, operating rooms, and multi-disciplinary rounds with some of the brightest minds Glynn County has to offer. This experience will greatly help him in his journey to become a physician in many ways. However, he says the most important experience he had this summer was the confirmation that he has chosen the right path.- Harrison Lee/Mac Lovein Alumni Networking ProgramOne of the greatest advantages of being a part of such a highly esteemed chapter is the opportunity to connect with our alumni, who provide a helping hand in guiding current members toward their professional goals. In an effort to strengthen this relationship, a networking program has been created to give upperclassmen access to willing alumni that can be a resource for advancing their to-be careers. If you or anyone you know would be interested in being a readily available resource for the chapter, please email mualumnichair@gmail.com. In Search of Speakers at Mu ChapterIn order to strengthen the professional development of Mu Chapter, we would like to institute a speaker series as a part of our LEAD program. If you or anyone you know would like to speak at Mu Chapter to discuss your career and professional development in your industry, please reach out to mualumnichair@gmail.com.From your Alumni Relations Team,Mac Lovein (Mu 2956)Greyson Harper (Mu 2937), Harrison Lee (Mu 2975), William Hearn (Mu 2968), Luke Payne (Mu 3005), John Avino (Mu 3008), Fin Pennington (Mu 3001)Join the Mu Chapter LinkedInUGA Sigma Nu (Mu Chapter)115 Greek Park Circle, AthensUnited States of AmericaYou received this email because you signed up on our website or made a purchase from us.Unsubscribe |
